Cedar Breaks National Monument

 

In October, 2010, I joined an ad hoc women's soccer team to play in the Huntsman Games in St. George, UT.  We played 2 one-hour games Mon-Wed.  The last game was a real stretch for me.  Three of us had a free day before returning home.  Since we did not want to do any hiking, we did a whirlwind tour of Snow Canyon, Zion National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument.  Cedar Breaks is described to be a mini-Bryce Canyon.  And the great thing is that we could drive from one overlook to another to see the interesting and beautiful formations.

Mt Fuji

I travel to Japan 3-4 times per year on business.  We meet in Odawara.  On clear days, there are great views of Mt. Fuji.  In November, 2009, the morning sky was spectacular with a great view of Mt. Fuji.  I finally found a good view of the mountain from the top of a parking garage near a shopping center.

Winter in Upper Michigan

This image was taken in a visit to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in December, 1996, so it was originally photographed on film.  The day was sunny and clear after a fresh snowfall.  The Elm River is a nice, winding river with cold, clear water.

Japanese Train

You may have seen videos on YouTube where passengers were pushed into the train in Japan during rush hour by white-gloved uniformed staff.  I wanted to see this so went to Shinjuku Station (this and Tokyo stations are the busiest).  I could not find the right platform, but took this photo of business people ready for the train to leave - on time, of course.  The trains in Japan are amazing - a network of the fastest bullet (Shinkansen) trains to old, slow local trains.  In my many visits to Japan, the trains have always been on time - exactly - except for one time in which an accident delayed the Narita Express.

Hair

I was given a camera by my friend, Elegro, as a birthday gift and was immediately taken with the medium.  My friend was very supportive and found models for me.  Renee wanted some photos to feature her long hair.
